Stop Sign is a useful product in your arsenal against spyware and malware. This anti spyware program has certainly had its ups and downs, with early problems plaguing the software, followed by a round of retractions and rebuttals. In the complex world of spyware, many malicious programs will actually imitate legitimate ones, and it seems that Stop Sign has been a victim of this type of deception in the past.
However, this is a program with a tiny footprint, fast scans and the ability to catch bits and pieces that other anti spyware software does not. Although it shouldn't be your only spyware defense, it is certainly a useful addition to your arsenal.
Additonal Features
Stop Sign is actually quite a customizable software, despite the plain Jane look of the interface. You have all the standard options such as scheduled scanning, background scanning, automatic detection and cure, and detailed reporting for any threats found.
When behavioural detection engines identify a new threat, you are asked if you wish to send information to the Stop Sign team so they can create a Custom Cure, which will then be applied to others computers that might become infected. Custom Cures are provided at no extra charge.

What Real People Say
PCReview user review by shally:
"Hi, I am an eAcceleration stop-sign user, I used to think a few years ago that Stop-Sign was spyware, but it really isn't. So far it's one of the best spyware/virus remover's I've come across"
CNET User review by gantt chart template
"Before using Stop Sign my computer was riddled with all sorts of nasty bugs. Ever since I installed Stop Sign it's been working smoothly!"
Should you buy Stop Sign?
What's fabulous about Stop Sign?
Deep scanning includes email archives, hidden folders, etc
New infections can be detected and 'Custom Cures' can be provided at no extra charge
Fast scanning
Vastly upgraded interface
What Stop Sign features are middle-of-the-road?
Detection rates are middling
Updates slow down the system significantly
The heuristics used to identify potential malware create some false positives
Where does Stop Sign fail?
Very expensive for a program that's simply another one in the arsenal. There are quite a few freeware programs that replicate Stop Sign's ability at no cost.
